Eight die in road accidents in 24 hours

LAHORE: Around eight people died, whereas 1,623 were injured in 1,353 road accidents in all districts of Punjab during the last 24 hours.
Out of these, 724 people with serious injuries were shifted to different hospitals, while 891 victims with minor injuries were treated at the incident site by Rescue medical teams.The majority (75%) involved motorbikes. Furthermore, the analysis showed those 909 drivers, 63 underage drivers, 198 pedestrians, and 516 passengers were among the victims of road traffic crashes.
The statistics show that 291 accidents were reported in Lahore which affected 360 persons placing the provincial capital at top of the list followed by Faisalabad 81 in which 99 victims and at third Multan with 76 accidents.
