Prof Nadeem Bukhari assigned charge of VC UAJK
Prof is distinguished meritorious professor at UAJK, renowned for his outstanding contributions to English and Linguistics
MUZAFFARABAD: President Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) and Chancellor of the University of Azad Jammu and Kashmir (UAJK) has assigned the charge of Vice Chancellor UAJK to Prof Dr Nadeem Haider Bukhari, the senior-most meritorious professor and dean of the university. He will hold this position until the appointment of a regular vice chancellor.
Prof Nadeem Bukhari is a distinguished meritorious professor at UAJK, renowned for his outstanding contributions to English and Linguistics. He earned his PhD from the UK in record time and played a pivotal role in launching the PhD programme in Linguistics at the university.
Under his leadership, over 20 PhD scholars and 52 MPhil graduates have successfully completed their research. His academic influence extends beyond national borders. As the author of four books and the Chief Editor of the Kashmir Journal of Language Research (KJLR)—one of Pakistan’s leading research journals—he has cemented his reputation as a key figure in the field of Linguistics and higher education.
This appointment comes after Prof Dr Muhammad Kaleem Abbasi, Vice Chancellor UAJK, proceeded on full-paid leave from March 17 to June 2, 2025.
