PESHAWAR: Qurtuba University of Science and Information Technology (QUSIT) signed memorandums of understanding (MoUs) with Prime Teaching Hospital and Mercy Teaching Hospital to promote cooperation in the field of pharmacy education and clinical training.

At Prime Teaching Hospital, the MoU was signed by Prof Dr Sardar Mohammad, Medical Superintendent of the hospital, and Prof Dr Mohammad Mansoor Khan, Registrar of QUSIT. The event was attended by Dr Saiful Islam, Pro Vice-Chancellor of QUSIT, Prof Dr Mohammad Saeed, Head of the Pharmacy Department at QUSIT and Jawad Haider from Prime Teaching Hospital. Later that day, a similar ceremony was held at Mercy Teaching Hospital, where Dr. Mohammad Ghiias Rajab, the hospital’s Medical Superintendent, and Prof. Dr. Mohammad Mansoor Khan of QUSIT formalized the agreement. Prof Dr Mohammad Ishaque from Mercy Teaching Hospital, Dr Saiful Islam and others were also present on the occasion.

The MoUs aimed at strengthening the professional and academic exchanges between the institutions, providing pharmacy students from QUSIT with invaluable clinical exposure and access to top-tier medical resources. The agreements will facilitate hands-on training, particularly in clinical clerkship, ensuring that students gain practical experience in real-world healthcare settings.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr Saiful Islam stressed the importance of such partnerships in bridging the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical application. “This collaboration will enhance the quality of pharmacy education and equip our graduates with essential clinical skills,” he said.
