Spine Care moot
LAHORE:The first International Spine Care Conference was organised here in a private university of Biological and Applied Sciences, in collaboration with the University of Social Welfare and Rehabilitation Sciences.
Dr Hafiz Syed Ijaz Ahmed delivered a keynote address on 'Spinal Rehabilitation in Low Resource Settings,' sharing valuable insights and expertise on addressing rehabilitation challenges in resource-constrained environments.
This conference marked a significant milestone in promoting global collaboration and knowledge sharing in spine care and neuro-rehabilitation. Dr Hafiz Syed Ijaz emphasised the critical role of spinal rehabilitation following spinal cord injuries in remote and underserved areas, where specialised rehabilitation services are scarce. To address this gap, Dr Ijaz recommended that all operated cases of spinal cord injury patients should have a comprehensive rehabilitation toolkit available at their homes, particularly in remote areas. This toolkit, combined with training for family members and local healthcare workers, can significantly enhance patient outcomes and improve quality of life.
