Tooran Asif appointed president, CEO of UBank
KARACHI: Pakistan’s leading ICT services provider, PTCL Group, has appointed banking veteran Tooran Asif as the new president and CEO of U Microfinance Bank Limited (UBank). With over 30 years of experience in digital and retail banking, Asif is set to lead UBank’s next phase of expansion and innovation.
Before joining UBank, Asif was the CEO of KT Bank Pakistan Limited, a digital bank under formation. He also held key leadership roles at Mashreq Bank UAE, where he drove the digital transformation of consumer banking and enhanced Islamic banking services. His career includes senior positions at Standard Chartered, Citigroup and ANZ Bank, with expertise spanning financial inclusion and business transformation across Asia, the Middle East and the UK. Welcoming Asif, Chairman of UBank and President & Group CEO of PTCL & Ufone 4G Hatem Bamatraf expressed confidence in his leadership: “Tooran Asif’s expertise in digital banking and financial inclusion aligns with UBank’s vision.
