Head money placed on most wanted terrorists

PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has placed bounties on several terrorists for creating unrest in Kurram and other districts of the province, officials said.
The move aims to curb militancy and restore law and order in the affected regions. The authorities had recommended the names of 14 miscreants from different areas who were allegedly involved in creating a law and order situation in Kurram and the rest of the province. The District Intelligence Coordination Committee (DICC) Kurram in its meeting held on February 14 recommended these names. Regional Police Officer Kohat endorsed the recommendation of DICC and the case was thoroughly examined by the Additional Inspector General of Police, Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD), Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in its meeting. “The Inspector General of Police, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa approved the recommendations of the Counter Terrorism Department.
In pursuance of powers granted under SOPs and in light of the recommendations the head money has been fixed against names of the 14 most wanted/proclaimed offenders with immediate effect,” stated a notification of the Home Department. The highest head money, Rs 30 million, was announced for Kazim alias Ahmad Mustafa of Baggan, Lower Kurram while Rs20m head money has been fixed for Amjadullahh of Sadda, Lower Kurram. Others who carry head money included Mukaram Khan of Bagan, Lower Kurram Tehsil with Rs15m, Darwesh Wazir of Khyber Rs10m, Saif Ullah Rs10m, Usman Shafique of Khyber Rs10m, Noorullah Rs10m, Usman Gul Badin Rs8m and Maulana Tayab Rs5m. Besides, Rs3m each head money was fixed for Mansoor, Pastawani, Usama of Shaga , Adam Saaz Parakay of Kurram, Yaseen Shaheen and Wazir Mahmood.
