Expired meat seized, shops sealed in Upper Dir

DIR: The district administration has taken strict action against butchers selling substandard and expired meat in Dir Bazaar.According to details, under the instructions of Deputy Commissioner Naveed Akbar, Assistant Commissioner Dir and Halal Food Authority Dir conducted a surprise inspection of shops in Dir Bazaar.

During the inspection, a large quantity of substandard and expired meat was seized and several shops were sealed. The confiscated meat was disposed of safely under the supervision of the Halal Food Authority and TMA Dir to prevent any health risks.

On the instructions of the deputy commissioner, special teams have been formed under the leadership of the Halal Food Department Dir to check the quality of meat being sold in various cities of Upper Dir.

These teams are conducting inspections and checking for halal certification, cleanliness, and storage conditions. The goal of this campaign is to prevent the sale of substandard and unhealthy meat and to strictly monitor food safety SOPs.

Meanwhile, the district administration of Upper Dir has started the special plantation campaign in Sheringal. In this regard, Additional Assistant Commissioner Sheringal, Amir Shehzad Khattak, planted a tree at Doru Sheringal, inaugurating the Billion Tree Tsunami/ Tree Plantation campaign.

Additional Assistant Commissioner Sheringal, Amir Shehzad Khattak, was accompanied by the Tehsil Municipal Officer Sheringal, SDF Officer Sheringal, Range Forest Officer Sheringal, local elders, forest staff, TMA staff, and Levies personnel.
