Differently-abled persons stage protest
PESHAWAR: Differently-abled persons on Monday staged a protest for over four hours to highlight their demands.
The demonstrators gathered on Khyber Road and blocked the traffic. They also attempted to enter the Red Zone during the protest.The speakers urged the government to allocate funds for purchasing prosthetic devices under the Sehat Card Programme, provide the announced monthly stipend, and reserve a job quota for them.
The protest disrupted the free flow of traffic on GT Road and other arteries. The commuters faced difficulties. The vehicle owners had to take longer routes to reach their destinations.There was a total traffic mess on the Muhammad Rustam Kiyani Road outside the Peshawar High Court and other roads in the city because of the protest.
