Over 500 take part in cycle rally
LAHORE:Parliamentary Secretary Sports Punjab Malik Anas Mehmood said that the promotion of cycling culture will help a lot in reducing environmental pollution from the cities. ‘The purpose of Horse & Cattle Show cycle rally was to make the citizens aware about the significance of the healthy and clean environment.’
He stated this while talking to the media at the prize-distribution ceremony of cycle rally at Liberty Chowk on Sunday. More than 500 male and female cyclists of all age groups participated in the cycle rally. Parliamentary Secretary Sports Punjab Malik Anas Mehmood was the chief guest on this occasion. Parks and Horticulture Authority (PHA) Additional DG Zeeshan Ranjha, Chief Traffic Officer Lahore Athar Waheed and other officials were also present on this occasion.
Parliamentary Secretary Sports Punjab Malik Anas Mehmood distributed track suits among all the people participating in the cycle rally. Food packets were also provided to the participants. Parliamentary secretary chief minister for organising the Horse and Cattle Show after a lapse of one decade. ‘It is essential to hold such events for establishing a healthy nation and society.
He said that healthy activities were being promoted in all districts and tehsils of the province. ‘Our youth should take part in the healthy outdoor activities to the maximum because this practice will help a lot in building a healthy society.’
Later, the winner was given a cash prize of Rs200,000 while the runner up received a cheque of Rs100,000. On this occasion, PHA Additional DG Zeeshan Ranjha presented a souvenir to Parliamentary Secretary Anas Mehmood Malik.
