RAWALPINDI: Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee (CJCSC) General Sahir Shamshad Mirza met with Saudi Assistant Minister of Defence Major General Talal Bin Abdullah Al-Otaibi, and Saudi Chief of General Staff General Fayyadh bin Hamed Al-Ruwaili during his official visit to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA).
The CJCSC is in Saudi Arabia for the eighth round of the Pakistan-KSA Joint Military Cooperation Committee (JMCC) meeting. During his meetings, he discussed strategic and security matters, the evolving regional environment, and bilateral defence cooperation, according to a press release by the ISPR.
General Sahir Shamshad Mirza and General Fayyadh bin Hamed Al-Ruwaili co-chaired the JMCC meeting.
Both sides reviewed the ongoing cooperation between the armed forces of Pakistan and Saudi Arabia, with a focus on mutual exchange programmes, training initiatives, and other defence-related activities.
The military leadership from both countries reaffirmed their commitment to further strengthening the existing defence and security cooperation between the two brotherly nations.
The Saudi military leadership praised the professionalism of the Pakistan Armed Forces and acknowledged their sacrifices in the fight against terrorism. Earlier, upon his arrival at the Armed Forces Headquarters, General Sahir Shamshad Mirza was presented with a “Guard of Honour” by a smartly turned-out military contingent.
