LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has expressed gratitude and paid tribute to the president of Pakistan Muslim League-N Nawaz Sharif and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on the completion of one year since the general elections in the country.

She said, “The vision of Quaid Muhammad Nawaz Sharif and the journey of progress and prosperity under the leadership of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif are remarkable.”

She said, “Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif deserves congratulations for achieving the impossible despite economic challenges and political instability. Increases in exports, an upsurge in remittances, and a dip in inflation amount to an economic miracle.”

The chief minister said that the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) summit in Pakistan was the biggest event of the decade.

She continued, “The country’s economy is improving with the reduction of interest rates and the current account deficit. The Pakistan Stock Exchange has become the region’s fastest-growing revenue market.” She emphasized, “It has been proven that the economy thrives and people prosper only during the PMLN tenure.” She underscored that “improvements in Pakistan’s economy will bring prosperity to the poorer segments of society.”

The chief minister said, “Punjab is the only province where the inflation rate in food and beverages is low. Farmers and ordinary citizens are feeling the coming days of progress and prosperity.”

Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz congratulated cricket fans on the start of a tri-nation cricket series in Pakistan featuring Pakistan, New Zealand, and South Africa after many decades.

She extended her best wishes to the teams and congratulated Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, the Chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), and their entire team on this remarkable achievement. “It is a victory of the

government’s commitment to rehabilitate playing fields in the country.” The chief minister said, “I cannot describe in words my joy at the return of international cricket to Gaddafi Stadium.”
