The Sindh government has negated another claim of Punjab that the latter is going to establish the first-ever government-funded facility to treat and rehabilitate autistic children in the country.

Sindh Senior Minister for Information Sharjeel Inam Memon has denied the claim of the spokesperson for the Punjab government in this regard. He said the first-ever government-funded facility to rehabilitate autistic children in the country was not being established in Lahore, for the Sindh government had established the first rehabilitation facility for autistic children in Karachi in 2018 financed by the public exchequer. Memon said that at present six government-funded autism rehabilitation facilities had been working in Sindh. He advised the Punjab government to publicise its good work, but at the same time, it shouldn’t distort facts.

Meanwhile, Punjab Information Minister Azma Bukhari said those who had the desire to compete with Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz should show the same level of performance. She said the spokespersons for other governments in the country were doing nothing except identifying baseless defects in projects of the Punjab government. Earlier, the Sindh information minister had reminded the Punjab CM that Sindh, not Punjab, was the first province to launch an electric bus service in Karachi two years back.
