Action taken against substandard snack sellers
ALPURI: The district administration Shangla on Saturday launched a crackdown against those selling substandard snacks following the death of three children who had consumed “toxic” papad.
The administration took measures after the alleged deaths of three children due to consuming “toxic” papads.
The authorities seized substandard sweets and other food items from shops in Bisham, Koroha, Ranyal and surrounding markets.
The deputy commissioner announced the suspension of no-objection certificates (NOCs) for flavoured powders, and similar food items. All traders have been given 24 hours to voluntarily return these items.
The local police were instructed to enforce stringent surveillance at Shangla Top and initiate strict action.
The district administration vowed to continue working to safeguard public health and prevent such incidents from happening in the future.
