9,000 get interest-free loans under Apni Chhat, Apna Ghar Scheme

LAHORE: Above 9,000 people across Punjab got interest-free loans worth more than Rs8.5 billion, which showed the historic success of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif’s Apni Chhat, Apna Ghar Program.

“Seeing the houses built under Apni Chhat, Apna Ghar Program gives me a great pleasure, it is as if I am building my own house,” said Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, while noting success of Apni Chhat, Apna Ghar Scheme. She added, “I am sure it will prove to be the best housing scheme in Pakistan.”

The chief minister said, “I want no one in Punjab to remain homeless, everyone should have the happiness of having his/her own roof.” She added, “The state is like a mother and mothers feel more for the homeless children.”

Maryam Nawaz said, “In Apni Chhat, Apna Ghar, there is no culture of recommendations, loans are given purely on merit.” She added, “Those who get a loan of Rs1.5 million will have to pay the principal amount in 09 years installments of Rs14,000 per month.” She underscored, “A unique record of giving microfinance loans worth Rs8.5 billion under the scheme in a short period of a few months has been achieved.”

The chief minister said, “A record of more than 400,000 applications and documents have been received on Apni Chhat, Apna Ghar portal in the shortest period.” She added, “5,000 loans have been issued in phase-I of scheme.” She underscored, “More than 5,000 houses under the program are nearing completion.”

Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz said, “Construction of houses has also begun with the 3,000 loans issued in Phase-II.” She added, “03 impartial microfinance institutions are verifying applications received on Apni Chhat, Apna Ghar portal.”

The chief minister directed the relevant authorities to complete construction of one lakh houses in one year, and 05 lakh houses in five years.” She noted, “A web portal acag.punjab.gov.pk and a helpline number 0800-09100 have been established for the guidance of potential applicants of Apni Chhat, Apna Ghar scheme.”

“The entire nation stands by security forces in the fight against terrorism,” said Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif while paying a rich tribute to the security forces for killing 30 Khwarij in three operations in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

Meanwhile, Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif in her message on World Clean Energy Day said, “Clean and renewable energy is crucial to our survival. Punjab is being ushered into new era of clean and green energy by getting rid of fossil fuels.” She highlighted, “CM Solar Panel Program has been introduced to change the traditional energy mix of the province.”Chief Minister said, “CM Solar Panel Program will not only reduce economic burden of citizens but will also bring a revolution in the energy sector.” She added, “The solarization project of agricultural tube wells will provide clean and affordable energy to farmers.”

Chief Minister said, “Punjab has recently acquired 27 electric buses and has placed an order for 500 more.” She noted, “Punjab government has introduced the country’s first comprehensive environmental policy, clean energy is an integral part of it.” She added, “Many government offices in Punjab, including the Chief Minister’s Office, have been shifted to renewable energy.” She flagged, “Clean energy guarantees bright and safe future for the coming generations.”
