Parachinar tehsil chairman arrested

PARACHINAR: The police on Friday arrested the chairman of Parachinar Tehsil, Aga Muzammil Hussain, for leading a protest against terrorist attacks and the closure of major roads in the area.

According to police sources, Hussain was apprehended after an FIR was registered against him on January 5. The charges include violation of Section 144. The protest, which took place in response to attacks on passenger convoys, particularly in the Lower Kurram region.

Meanwhile, in a joint press conference, prominent political, social, and religious figures, including Agha Shafique Mutahari, Khurshid Anwar, Agha Sarfraz, Syed Ikhlaq, Sajid Kazmi, Mir Afzal Khan and tribal leaders Jalal Hussain and Musheer Hussain expressed their anger over the situation. They described Hussain’s arrest as humiliating and regrettable and called for his immediate release.

The leaders emphasized that Hussain’s protest was not only a response to the terrorist attacks but also a call for justice and security for the people of Parachinar and the surrounding areas.
