Nadra official shot dead in Panjgur
Deceased identified as Muhammad Bilal, while injured is named Aneel Rana
QUETTA: An official of the National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) was shot dead, and another man was injured in an armed attack on the authority’s local office in the Panjgur district, police said on Tuesday.
Officials reported that the shooting occurred in Chatikan, an area of Panjgur town. Armed assailants stormed the NADRA office and opened fire, killing one official and injuring another. The injured man hailed from Rahim Yar Khan district in Punjab.
Police rushed to the scene upon receiving information about the incident and transported the deceased and the injured to the district hospital in Panjgur. The deceased was identified as Muhammad Bilal, while the injured was named Aneel Rana.
“The deceased sustained multiple bullet wounds, leading to his immediate death,” police said, quoting hospital sources. They said that the incident appeared to be a targeted killing.
Further investigations are underway, and no group has claimed responsibility for the attack.
