Navy win 32nd National Shooting Championship

KARACHI: Pakistan Navy has won the 32nd National Shooting Championship at PN Shooting Range here on Tuesday.

On the second last day of the championship, Navy took its medal tally to 36 with 16 gold to ensure its victory as the last day only two events will be held. In the individual category of 10m Air Pistol event for women, Navy’s Rasam Gul scored 239.6 points, Hadia Liaquat scored 237.8 points, and Rabia Kabir scored 216.3 points to win gold, silver, and bronze medals, respectively.

In the team category of the said event, Navy scored 1703 points to win gold, Army scored 1686 points for silver, and Wapda scored 1636 points to take bronze medal. In the final of the individual category of Trap event, Army’s Zafar ul Haq scored 45 points and Farrukh Nadeem scored 44 points to take gold and silver medals, respectively, while Sindh’s Usman Sadiq scored 34 points for bronze medal.

In the team category of the said event, Army scored 342 points to clinch gold, Navy scored 339 points for silver, and PAF scored 324 points to win bronze medal. At the end of day six, Navy topped the medal table with 16 gold, 15 silver, and five bronze medals while Arm with 12 gold, 12 silver, and seven bronze took second position.

PAF with one silver and 10 bronze medals stood third, Wapda with three bronze medals got fourth position, Sindh with two bronze medals took fifth position, and HEC with one bronze got sixth positon. The teams of Federal Rifle Association, Balochistan, Punjab, KPK, and Pakistan Police have not won any medal yet.
