2-day training programme begins at UoH

HARIPUR: To refine the programme review mechanisms aiming to support institutional growth and academic excellence, the Quality Enhancement Cell (QEC) of the University of Haripur has organised a two-day training here on Friday.

The training titled “Programme Review for Effectiveness and Enhancement (PREE)” brought together the faculty members and academic staff from the affiliated colleges across the district and the University of Haripur.

While facilitating the training session Dr. Shah Masaud Khan, director QEC UoH, emphasized the critical role of programme reviews in achieving sustainable academic excellence and meeting quality benchmarks.

Explaining the principles of quality, process of programme review and standards to be met as prescribed in the Pakistan, Precepts Standards and Guidelines for Quality Assurance in Higher Education (PSG-2023) by the HEC, he said that the framework of quality assurance in academic growth not only integrates international QA standards but also incorporates localized solutions in addressing challenges that the higher education institutions were exposed to in Pakistan.

He termed the PSG-2023 as a comprehensive framework, adding that it underscores the commitment to uninterrupted improvement and pursuit of excellence and accountability in the sector of higher education.

The interactive sessions, on this occasion, allowed participants to explore innovative strategies for evaluating academic programs, enhancing operational efficiency, and ensuring continuous improvement. It also generated a meaningful dialogue, enabling attendees to share insights and collaboratively address challenges faced in program implementation.

Prof Abid Farid Pro-Vice Chancellor University of Haripur in his closing speech appreciated the team of QEC UOH adding that the initiative aligns with the UoH’s unwavering commitment to quality assurance and excellence in education.
