Mian Iftikhar blames PTI govt for KP’s financial crunch
MANSEHRA: Awami National Party (ANP) leader Mian Iftikhar Hussain on Thursday said that the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) government was facing a financial crunch despite receiving the National Finance Commission (NFC) award and anti-terrorism fund.
“I would prefer to say that this is not a government, but a group of aggressors who stormed the federal capital and plunged the province into the financial crunch despite receiving the NFC award and the anti-terrorism fund,” he told reporters here.
Mian Iftikhar also addressed party workers in the Dhodial area here. The ANP leader said that the provincial government was focusing solely on the release of their party’s founding chairman, Imran Khan.
“This government has no agenda, despite governing the province for almost twelve years. It has failed to develop the education and agriculture sectors and could not safeguard the resources allocated to the province under the 18th amendment,” he added.
Mian Iftikhar said that PTI leaders and their founding chairman, Imran Khan, were confused about dialogue with the federal government as they alternately claimed talks would be held with the establishment and then with the government.
“In such a situation, where there is no clear agenda for these ongoing talks, how can one expect a positive outcome from these negotiations,” the ANP leader said.He said that politicians who gained parliamentary seats with the help of external forces were involved in corruption and kickbacks after switching loyalties.
“Our party’s struggle against this system of politics continues. And we will ultimately emerge victorious to ensure lasting peace in the province,” Mian Iftikhar said. While highlighting the historic role of Mansehra’s Baffa town in Bacha Khan’s movement, he said that the people stood shoulder-to-shoulder with the founder of ANP and donated Rs1 for his struggle, which was a remarkable contribution. The ANP’s district president Ahmad Yar Khan and tehsil president Adil Hussain Pakhalvi were also present on the occasion.
