ISLAMABAD: Saim Ayub will stay in the UK till the end of this month where he will undergo rehabilitation too following proper recovery.
A spokesman of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) told ‘The News’ that the ankle fracture that Saim suffered during the second Test against South Africa in Cape Town will require time to heal before the rehabilitation process will start.
“No extra surgery will be required on his ankle as only plaster would help him recover from the fracture. Once his fracture heals he would start rehab according to the given advice. For the time being he would stay in the UK possibly for the next 15 days after which he would undergo further tests to ascertain his recovery process,” the spokesman said. The PCB is awaiting anxiously for early recovery in a hope to get him fit for the Champions Trophy or by the time it submits final 15 for Champions Trophy by February 12. According to experts it is highly unlikely that a player could recover hundred percent from such injury in just over a month’s time.
