Virus-hit Musiala still in doubt, says Bayern coach Kompany
BERLIN: Bayern Munich midfielder Jamal Musiala remains doubtful for Wednesday´s Bundesliga clash with Hoffenheim, coach Vincent Kompany said. “It´s not certain he´ll be there at all tomorrow, but we´ll have a look in training today,” Kompany said Tuesday.
“Having him in the squad would be a positive for us.” Musiala has emerged as Bayern´s most important attacking force after Harry Kane, with 14 goals in all competitions this season. With Musiala missing, Bayern needed a second-half Kane penalty to get past Borussia Moenchengladbach at the weekend and maintain their four-point lead ahead of Bayer Leverkusen atop the Bundesliga table.
Bayern sporting director Christoph Freund also shut down media speculation the club were on the verge of bringing Chelsea´s Christopher Nkunku back to the Bundesliga. “If things stay as they are, then the idea of bringing someone additional in to bolster our attack is off the table,” said Freund.
