Rescue effort continues in collapsed mine

Teams from Mines Inspectorate, PDMA, Law Enforcement, and various labour federations are actively involved in rescue operation

QUETTA: A gas explosion in the United Mines Company in Sanjdi led to the collapse of a mine, trapping 12 miners. The rescue operation is going on, and as of now, the bodies of four miners have been recovered.

The names of the trapped workers are: Roshan Zaib son of Bakht Zamin, Amanullah son of Sultan Ahmad, Waheed Zaman son of Muhammad Yusuf, Nadeemullah son of Muhammad Yusuf, Akbarullah son of Kamaldin, Noman Saeed son of Noorulbahr, Shafiur Rehman son of Hamesh Gul, Azharuddin son of Syedan Gul, Muhammad Yamalik son of Mezar, Umar Wali son of Ghulam Habib, Luqman Zada son of Rozi Khan and Yar Shah son of Muhammad Zaman.

Provincial Minister for Finance and Minerals, Mir Shoaib Noshirowani, in a statement said that the rescue operation for the miners trapped in a coal mine in Sanjidi is going on. 

On Friday, the bodies of four miners were recovered from the mine. Eight miners are still trapped. 

He added that the Chief Inspector of Mines is personally monitoring the operation and efforts are underway to rescue the remaining miners. Efforts to recover the remaining miners continue. Teams from the Mines Inspectorate, PDMA, Law Enforcement, and various labor federations are actively involved in the rescue operation.
