KARACHI: Eshal Associates’ young batsman Azan Owais played a brilliant innings of 119 runs on Friday in the President’s Trophy match against Higher Education.

Azan Owais, who scored the most runs in the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy with 844, played a brilliant innings of 119 runs in the second innings of the match. Eshal Associates declared the second innings at 288-8 at the National Bank Stadium.

Higher Education were given a target of 406 runs to win. At the end of the third day, they scored 136-5. Muhammad Zubair scored 51 runs. Usman Tariq took three wickets. At the HPC Oval Ground, PTV were bowled out for 333 runs in their first innings in reply to defending champions SNGPL’s 406 runs.

Muhammad Taha was dismissed without adding to his previous day’s score of 86. Shahzad Gul and Aftab Ibrahim took three wickets each. SNGPL scored 241 runs for 8 wickets in the second innings. Mubasar Khan scored 57 runs and Arafat Minhas scored 57 runs. Faisal Akram took three wickets. At NBP Sports Complex, Wapda declared their second innings at 313-7 against KRL.

Mohammad Akhlaq scored 125 runs with the help of 18 fours and 2 sixes.Ayaz Taswar played an innings of 98 runs. Arshadullah bowled well and took all seven wickets for 77 runs. Chasing a target of 431 runs, KRL ended up at 98-4.

At SBP Sports Complex, OGDCL were bowled out for 369 runs in the second innings against State Bank. Adil Amin scored 117 runs with the help of 13 fours and was not out. Sarwar Afridi also played well scored 64 runs. Niaz Khan took 5-86. State Bank were given a target of 369 runs to win and ended up at 84-2.
