NSG membership to India will jeopardise regional security, says Siraj
LAHORE: Amir Jamaat-e-Islami Senator Sirajul Haq has said that the Nuclear Suppliers Group’s (NSG’s) membership for India would be a grave threat to regional peace and stability. He was talking to media persons outside the Parliament House after attending the Senate session on Thursday.
Siraj said that the US wanted to make India the regional policeman to oversee China. India had committed aggression against Pakistan twice in the past and it could not live in peace with its neighbours. Instead of respecting the independence and sovereignty of its neighbours, India considers them as its colonies. The JI chief deplored that Pakistan’s foreign policy was continuously in a bad shape. While India’s foreign policy was expanding Pakistan s foreign policy was shrinking. He said that in the absence of the prime minister the foreign minister represented the state. But unfortunately we have no foreign minister and the prime minister is also sick.
He said during the last three months Indian prime minister has made successful visits to Saudi Arabia Iran and Afghanistan and has been able to mould the situation of the whole region in New Delhi’s favour.
He said the US-India collusion was a deep conspiracy to sabotage the China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) and to build Chabahar as major port as a foil to Gwadar but the rulers in Islamabad are indifferent.
Sirajul Haq said that Pakistan s foreign policy has always been serving US interests whereas US had always deceived us. He said that till today Pakistan’s foreign policy had never been reviewed at any elected forum nor had the Foreign Ministry considered itself answerable to anyone.
He said the gains of India and Pakistan’s failures were not the issue; the real issue is the incompetence of the government and the acceptance of India s supremacy by the Pakistani rulers.
