ISLAMABAD: Former Chairman Mian Raza Rabbani condemned the United States sanctions on four Pakistani firms for aiding its ballistic missile programme in the strongest terms and said the sanctions are discriminatory and biased.
“The US imperialism must realise that Pakistan is not a client state,” he said, adding that the US policy can undermine regional peace and stability. “Such steps cannot in any way undermine the missile programme of Pakistan,” he said.
He said Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto initiated Pakistan’s peaceful nuclear plan, and Shaheed Benazir Bhutto took the missile programme forward. “These are Pakistan’s peaceful defence deterrents. Such sanctions once again expose the double standards in US policy,” he said.
