1,022 FC recruits pass out from SSTA
GHALLANAI: As many as 1022 recruits of the 22nd batch of Frontier Corps passed out of the Swat Scouts Training Academy (SSTA) here on Monday.
Sector Commander Brig Wajid Qayyum Paracha was the chief guest at the passing out parade organised at the Michni Headquarters. Commandant STA Col Muhammad Rafique inspected the passing out parade.
Brig Wajid Qayyum Paracha and Col Muhammad Rafique distributed prizes and certificates among the best recruits. In this regard, Asif Ali Mehmood of Shawal Scouts and Muhammad Kamran of Swat Scouts were awarded ‘Sword of Honour’ and ‘Stick of Honour,’ respectively, for overall best performance.
Ibrar Hussain Khattak of Tall Scouts was awarded for being best in physical training and Ahmad Bilal Mohmand of Kurram Militia was given prize for being best marksman. The parade ceremony was largely attended by the families of the recruits, personnel of FC, police, cadets and teachers of Warsak Cadet College.
Speaking on the occasion, Brig Wajid Qayyum lauded the courage of soldiers and jawans for restoring peace to the volatile Federally Administered Tribal Areas. He said the passing out recruits were going to become part of a new wing and would not bother to sacrifice their lives to safeguard the country’s boundaries.
