ISLAMABAD: The meeting of the Export Development Fund of Pakistan (EDFP) was held on Wednesday. It was chaired by Federal Minister for Commerce Jam Kamal, in which the annual business plan of Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP) was approved.
A decision was taken to upgrade Pakistan’s single window system. According to the plan, the TDAP will organize a Pakistan exhibition in Saudi Arabia next year.
Karachi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI) President Javed Balwani told The News the meeting decided to upgrade the Gem Jewelry Institute in Gilgit-Baltistan, Swabi and Mardan on modern lines. He said that like the member countries of the World Trade Organization (WTO), the single window system will also be upgraded in Pakistan. Important decisions were taken in the meeting to increase the country’s exports. As a result of the implementation of these decisions, Pakistan’s exports will cross the psychological threshold of $32 billion by June 30, 2025.
