ISLAMABAD: Germany defeated Pakistan 2-1 in the World Team Squash Championship pre-quarters to dash former champions’ hopes of a better show. The World Team Squash underway in Hong Kong China saw Asim Khan and Noor Zaman losing their matches while Nasir Iqbal won his match easily.
Results: Raphael Kandra (GER) bt Muhammad Asim Khan (PAK) 11-9, 9-11, 9-11, 11-4, 11-9 (58m); Nasir Iqbal (PAK) bt Yannik Omlor (GER) 11-8, 11-2, 11-6 (27m); Simon Rösner (GER) bt Noor Zaman (PAK) 8-11, 11-7, 11-5, 11-4 (38m).
