Concern over plight of minorities
LAHORE: The Pakistan Masiha Millat Party (PMMP) has voiced deep concern over the insecurity faced by religious minorities in Pakistan and the continued ‘violation of their fundamental rights’.
In a press statement issued on Human Rights Day, PMMP Chairman Aslam Pervaiz Sahotra, President William Javed, Patron of the Christian Lawyers Association Dr. Sharjeel Zafar, PMMP Khanewal President Younas Masih, Pastor Khaliq Mukhtar, and Abdul Rauf highlighted the plight of minorities in the country.
The PMMP called on the government to take immediate action to restore this right and to introduce a bill in parliament aimed at safeguarding the rights of minorities. They urged all political parties to support the legislation to ensure its swift passage and implementation.
