Levies officials say that abducted labourers were successfully rescued from Zarin Jungle late last night
QUETTA: Six labourers, who were abducted from Noshki, have been rescued after seven days, according to Levies sources. On the night of November 28, unidentified armed men abducted the labourers from the Zarin Jungle area of Noshki. In response, Levies and security forces launched an operation to ensure their recovery.
Levies officials reported that the abducted labourers were successfully rescued from the Zarin Jungle late last night. Among the rescued individuals are Zahoor Ahmed, Bismillah, and Gaje from Quetta; Nasir Baloch from Mastung; and Hooradin and Sherullah from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
The rescued labourers have been handed over to the Noshki administration, and further investigations are underway.
It may be mentioned here last Friday night, more than 10 armed individuals attacked a Levies check post and the construction site of the Gandari Dam in the Reko Zarin Jungle area, located on the Kharaan-Noshki highway and abducted six labourers.
According to security sources, the armed assailants blocked the highway and seized three rifles and other equipment from the Levies personnel at the check post. They then attacked the construction camp and set it on fire after abducting over six people. The assailants also took a pickup truck from the camp. The kidnapped individuals are said to be from Quetta and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. After the incident, security forces cordoned off the area and began searching for the culprits. A security alert has been issued in the district, though the news has not been officially confirmed by government sources.
