KARACHI: Hub Power Company (HUBCO) has contracted Avanceon to remotely monitor the performance of its energy generation plants.
A statement on Monday said Avanceon will provide services of real-time industrial data management system for its energy generation sites.
The industrial internet of things (IIoT) project, based on Rockwell Automation technology, has been initiated with an agreement to start working on a full deployment of a state-of-the-art remote monitoring platform to be completed by early 2017.
“HUBCO’s corporate responsibility is to deliver safe and reliable energy to the people. We have driven innovation in the power sector since day one in Pakistan, something that would not be possible if we did not collaborate with top technology leaders. Working with Avanceon, who have been both ground-breaking and inventive with their depth of expertise in Industrial IoT solutions, was a natural fit,” said Abdul Vakil, chief technology officer at HUBCO.
“By producing, analysing and benchmarking against our plant data it is easier to optimise plant generation and energy efficiencies for fuel savings and ultimately empowers the industry to make more sustainable decisions,” he added.
The project will help safeguard data and deliver enterprise-wide visibility into operational, manufacturing and business data. The scope of the project covers system integration of around 1600MW power plants installed at Hub, Narowal and Laraib.
