Rawalpindi: Several petrol pumps were closed here in different areas of Rawalpindi, not providing petrol or diesel to motorists on Monday.

Petroleum Dealers Association President Nadeem Khan said that several petrol pumps were closing down due to ending of the stock. If the government does not open roads, the country would face the worst shortage of petrol, he warned.

The residents of Rawalpindi and Islamabad were facing a curfew-like situation on the second day while all kinds of transport were still suspended. The Metro Bus Service (MBS) was off the roads here in Rawalpindi and Islamabad for the second day.

It is worth mentioning here that all food items—milk, meat, and chicken, come from other cities in Rawalpindi and Islamabad. The residents of the twin cities were buying all food items at exorbitant prices for two days.

All ambulances badly failed to approach allied hospitals for two days. All patients and even serious patients were dying on roads due to blockages of roads. Similarly, Water and Sanitation Agency (WASA) badly failed to provide water tankers to the public for two days due to the closure of roads. The residents, who had already paid money for water tankers, were deprived of water, facing famine like situation.

Over 80 per cent of residents in Rawalpindi were relying on the tanker mafia because there was no proper system of supplying water. But the public was deprived of water due to the closure of roads.

The residents of Rawalpindi and Islamabad have appealed to the government to ease the life of a common citizen. The ordinary citizen doesn’t have any concern about the PTI rally, but he was facing a curfew-like situation for two days. Only a common man was facing a hell-like situation for two days, which is not just, the residents strongly protested.
