Fourth accused in Zara murder case arrested: Accused admits to chopping deceased into pieces for Rs10,000
Motive behind incident appeared to be greed and jealousy stemming from love between deceased and her husband
DASKA: The police have arrested the fourth accused in Zara murder case.
The accused, Naveed was arrested from Lahore. The primary suspect in the recent incident, Sughra Bibi, confessed to being the mastermind behind the incident during interrogation, DSP Abid Rasheed told this correspondent. The motive behind the incident appeared to be greed and jealousy stemming from the love between the deceased and her husband. The DSP mentioned that the remand period of the three accused - Sughra Bibi, her daughter Yasmeen, and grandson Abdullah - will conclude tomorrow (today). Abid reported the arrest Naveed, who was granted a one-day physical remand by the deputy magistrate. It is worth noting that the police successfully recovered the weapon used in the incident. The DSP further confirmed that Naveed had pleaded guilty. The accused cut the body into pieces and dumped them at different spots. He got Rs10,000 for the heinous job and was lured by the promise of being sent abroad, as he was not earning well in Pakistan.
