Asif claims third IBSF World Snooker crown in Doha
LAHORE: Pakistan’s Mohammad Asif Wednesday claimed his third IBSF World Snooker Championship title in Doha. The 42-year-old cueist triumphed over Iran’s Ali Gharahgozlou in a nail-biting final, winning 5-3 in the best-of-nine frames match.
Entering the tournament as a wild card from the Pakistan Billiards and Snooker Association (PBSA), Asif showcased control and skill throughout the competition. He navigated the qualification rounds with ease, continued his winning streak in the main draw, and battled through the knockout stages to reach the final.
The final against Gharahgozlou was a high-stakes contest with thrilling moments on both sides. Asif’s tactical play and impressive breaks allowed him to secure a 5-3 victory. The frame-by-frame breakdown reflects the competitive intensity of the match.
