Dolphin Force in five more cities: IG

Summaries of replication of Dolphin Force in five other big cities of Punjab and establishment of two new police training schools have been sent to Punjab government for approval.

This was said in a meeting held under the chairmanship of Inspector General of Police, Punjab, Mushtaq Ahmad Sukhera at Central Police Office, Lahore, on Tuesday.

According to a handout, the cities in which Dolphin Force will be replicated are Rawalpindi, Gujranwala, Faisalabad, Multan and Bahawalpur. To enhance the training capacity of the police, establishment of two new training schools have also being proposed in Bahawalpur and Township, Lahore.

Later, Sindh Police DIG Sultan Ali Khwaja met the IG, Punjab, in his office. The IG told the Sindh DIG that under the instructions of Punjab government, the request of the Sindh government for help in establishing three systems of Punjab police, computerised Human Resource Management System, Record Management System and 8787 service, would be honoured and all kind of assistance would be provided to Sindh Police in this regard.

The Sindh DIG thanked the IG for his cooperation and said that the Sindh Police would also introduce the same IT-based initiatives taken by the Punjab Police. He said that the Sindh Police Department was impressed by the success of Punjab Police’s IT initiatives.

sacked: The chief traffic officer, Lahore, has dismissed six traffic wardens from service on charges of absence and violation of departmental rules and regulations. The dismissed wardens are Anwar, Sheeraz, Arsalan, Bilal, Haider and Kashif.

arrested: Nawankot CIA has arrested an accused of murder and other heinous crimes.

The arrested man, identified as Ali Ejaz Dar, had allegedly killed a cable operator, Irfan Rafique, in the Sanda area.

The DIG Investigation has announced cash prizes and commendation certificates for the police team.  

Accidents: Total 601 road accidents were reported to Provincial Monitoring Cell of Punjab Emergency Service, Rescue 1122, from all 36 districts of Punjab during the last 24 hours.

Three people were killed and 440 critically injured in the accidents. The injured were removed to hospitals. However, some 247 victims who sustained minor injuries were given first aid by the emergency medical teams.

traffic plan: The city traffic police have finalised a traffic plan to facilitate the visitors to the Ramadan bazaars.

At least nine DSPs, 13 inspectors, five patrol officers and 62 traffic wardens will perform duty at 31 Ramazan bazaars to be set up in Ghaziabad, Harbanspura, Chungi Dogaig, Chowk Bagum Kot, Delhi Gate, Data Nagar Dgree College, Singhpura, Shadbagh, China Scheme, Wahdat Colony, Gulshan Ravi, Naeem Shaheed Road, Model Town Link Road, Mecca Colony, Barkat Market, Bab-e Pakistan Walton Road, Ghalib Market Cricket Ground, GT Road Jallo Morr, Baidian Road Ludhar, Shadman, Islampura, Karim Park, Johar Town, Model Bazaar Raiwind, Subzazar, Thokar Niaz Baig, Chung, C-1 Township, Kahna Nu Ferozpur Road, Nishtar Colony and Model Bazaar Sher Shah Colony.
