134 degrees awarded at FUI
Islamabad:The convocation 2024 of graduates of Doctor of Physical Therapy and Master of Science Musculoskeletal Physical Therapy of the Foundation University, Islamabad (FUI) held on Thursday at Jinnah Auditorium, Foundation University School of Health Sciences (FUSH), says a press release.
LT Gen (r) Nigar Johar, HI(M), TI(M); The 1st ever female general officer in Pakistan Army, graced the occasion as chief guest. Maj. Gen. (r) Muhammad Kaleem Asif, HI(M), Rector FUI, Maj Gen (r) Imran Fazal HI(M), Director Foundation University School of Health Sciences, were also present on the occasion.
A total of 134 degrees were awarded. For achieving academic excellence, two gold medals for best graduate along with 2 gold medal for 1st position holders and 2 silver medals for 2nd position holders were awarded. Additionally 38 graduates were awarded certificates of distinction, while 46 were awarded merit certificates.
The Director of Foundation University School of Health Sciences presented an annual report, showcasing FUCP’s achievements. The college currently holds the honor of being the only institution in Pakistan and South Asia with full accreditation from the World Confederation of Physical Therapy (WCPT). Faculty of FUCP faculty has published nearly 300 research papers and achieved International collaborations with institutions like the University of Hasselt, Belgium, and Oklahoma Heart Hospital, USA.
FUCP aims to significantly enhance the no of Ph.D qualified faculty in year 2025, to further enhance its academic strength. Furthermore, it was also highlighted that The Foundation University journal of Rehabilitation Sciences which is official Rehabilitation Sciences Journal published by Foundation University College of Physical Therapy (FUCP), has maintaining its HEC ‘Y’ category for third consecutive years.
The Director FUSH emphasised that graduates of FUCP are making their mark globally, securing scholarships and securing International licenses to practice. The convocation celebrated the achievements of the graduates, reflecting FUCP’s commitment to producing competent, dynamic and skilled professionals. At the end, he acknowledged the efforts of students and wished them good luck for their future.
Chief guest, Lt Gen (r) Nigar Johar delivered an inspiring speech, congratulating the graduates and their families. She praised FUCP for its swift progress and its role in producing top-tier Physical Therapy professionals. Lt. Gen (r) Nigar Said; “You are the future of our healthcare system.” encouraging graduates to uphold their values and continuously advance their knowledge. She emphasised upon achievements of graduates and FUCP’s highlighting the commitment of institute to excellence in education and service to humanity.
