PPP arranges event to remember Karsaz tragedy
TAKHTBHAI: Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) provincial chief Muhammad Ali Shah Bacha on Friday said that the party always worked for the welfare of the people and respected the party workers.
He was speaking at a gathering organized in connection with the 17th anniversary of the Karsaz explosions in which 180 party workers were killed.The workers had gathered to welcome party chairperson Benazir Bhutto upon her return when the explosion occurred in the Karsaz area in Karachi.
Other party leaders including Mardan division president Umar Farooq, Mardan district Asada Khan and others were also present on the occasion.He said the PPP leaders and workers had been rendering sacrifices for the restoration of democracy and upholding the rules of law.
“The PPP always promoted the cause of the common people and gave respect to its workers,” he said, adding he would reorganize the party and genuinely would get their due rights.The PPP leader criticized the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf for not honouring its commitment made with the people.
