NOWSHERA: Chief Minister Pervez Khattak on Sunday said that the upcoming budget would be pro-poor and pro-farmer as every poor family would get Rs175,000 health insurance and free fertilizers and solar tubewells scheme would be introduced to facilitate farmers.
Speaking at a cheque hand-over ceremony for the welfare of the journalists to the office-bearers of the Nowshera Press Club, he said that farmers would be provided free fertilizers to promote agriculture in the province.
He asked the federal government to address the sense of deprivation of the smaller units. “A just distribution of resources, provision of net hydel profit and gas royalty would help Khyber Pakhtunkhwa allocate more resources for the welfare of the people,” he said.
The chief minister asked federal government to fulfill promises made with smaller provinces in the upcoming budget.Pervez Khattak said that his party wanted to spend every penny of the development projects on the people-friendly projects. “Previous governments had looted the exchequer by launching substandard projects,” he alleged.
He said that these parties had started efforts to escape accountability. However, he vowed, that every corrupt would be brought to justice.The PTI-led government would introduce similar development schemes across the province, he said, adding, his government had taken steps to eliminate political interference from the government department which would ultimately make the government machinery efficient. He claimed that his party would win the next general elections in the province on the basis of its performance.
