Dairy farmers meet CEO of livestock & dairy development to address industry challenges

LAHORE: A high-level delegation from the Dairy and Cattle Farmers Association of Pakistan (DCFA Pakistan) met with Dr Shahid Amin, the newly appointed CEO of the Livestock & Dairy Development Board, to congratulate him on his new role and discuss key challenges facing the dairy and cattle farming sector in the country.

The DCFA Pakistan delegation was led by Chief Organizer Shahbaz Rasool Warraich and included senior officials such as General Secretary Shahid Imran Gondal, Chief Media Officer Abid Saeed, and President of the North Chapter Raja Zahid Sarfraz. Key members of the dairy farming community from various regions of Pakistan also attended the meeting, while the Founder President of DCFA Pakistan Shakir Umer Gujjar participated online.

During the discussions, the delegation outlined significant challenges faced by dairy and cattle farmers and emphasized the sector’s potential to contribute more effectively to the country’s economic growth.

Shakir Umer Gujjar stressed the need for strong government support and policy reforms to enable farmers to play a more impactful role in meeting the growing demand for dairy products.

DCFA Pakistan also announced plans to submit a detailed proposal to the government, containing recommendations for long-term policies aimed at the sustainable growth of the sector. These recommendations will address issues that hinder productivity and profitability for farmers, particularly small-scale producers. Dr Shahid Amin expressed his gratitude to the delegation and assured the farmers of his full support. He acknowledged the critical role that dairy and cattle farmers play in society and stated that the government is taking special initiatives to support small farmers and enhance their ability to contribute to the economy.The meeting concluded with a mutual commitment to work together to strengthen the dairy and cattle farming industry.
