UNITED NATIONS: The schedule and composition of the delegation accompanying Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif during his visit to the United Nations are undergoing adjustments.
According to sources, Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb would now be a part of the official delegation, as well as Minister for Industries Rana Tanveer. Information Minister Atta Tarar is expected to arrive in New York on Sept 22, while Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar would reach the city on the same day via a commercial flight, one day ahead of the PM’s arrival.
Sources revealed that PM Shehbaz Sharif would address the Pakistan Business Council on Sept 26. On the same day, he is scheduled to give interviews to the Washington Post and a leading American news agency.
There are also reports of changes and additions to the list of bilateral meetings and discussions with foreign leaders on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly. In preparation for the visit, Pakistan’s Ambassador to the United Nations Munir Akram is scheduled to provide the media with an official briefing today, outlining the details of PM’s engagements during the UN visit.
