Who’s minding the nation?
With Imran Khan going after Nawaz Sharif to come clean on offshore accounts and London properties in the name of his children, and the PM claiming that all is above board, one wonders who is minding the store. The chief justice has clearly stated ‘incompetence, corruption eating into country’ (The News, May 22).
Which one of these two politicians is causing more pain to the man in the street? Imran Khan by his dharnas and constant attacks on the PM or the PM himself by not resolving the questions being asked? It seems civil servants have no one to lead or guide them. A road expansion project on GT Road between Swan Bridge and Rawat has been under construction for over seven months. It should have been completed within six months. However, it seems electric poles that should have been moved a long time ago are still standing as a testimony to the apathy of Iesco and the highway department. One can witness huge traffic jams in the morning, afternoon and evening rush hours. But no one seems to be pushed.
