LAHORE : The Punjab government is going to increase the capacity of government children's hospitals, said Health Minister Khawaja Salman Rafique while chairing a meeting in Punjab Institute of Cardiology regarding Chief Minister Children's Heart Surgery Programme" here on Saturday.
Officers concerned gave a briefing. Reference to the Chief Minister Children's Heart Surgery Programme, the capacity of children's hospitals in Punjab is being evaluated.
Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz is starting this project to ensure that innocent children who come for cardiac surgery in government children's hospitals are given priority surgery.
An online dashboard is also being created to continuously monitor the performance of the project. After this project, there will be an immediate improvement in the paediatric heart surgery system. The Punjab government is going to increase the capacity of government children's hospitals, the minister said. He said under this project, an integrated system of heart surgery for children will be made,
If even one innocent child's life is saved by this project, then our noble purpose of starting this project will be fulfilled, he said.
Chairman Board of Management Punjab Institute of Cardiology Professor Farqad Alamgir, Special Secretary Development Syed Wajid Ali Shah, Rawalpindi Institute of Cardiology's administration, Dean Children's Hospital Multan, Executive Director Multan Institute of Cardiology and other officials participated in the meeting.
