APML spokesperson, 17 others join PSP
Karachi
The Pak Sarzameen Party (PSP) has once attracted more dissident leaders and this time 18 members of the All Pakistan Muslim League (APML), including its spokesperson Aasia Ishaque, have switched their loyalties as they formally joined the Mustafa Kamal-led party on Wendnesday.
The announcement was made by PSP chief Mustafa Kamal at a press conference held at his current residence.
Talking about the reason of resigning from the party last week, the former spokesperson of the APML said “the opportunists” in the party had forced her to take the decision, but she added that she would not stop praising APML chief General (Retd) Pervez Musharraf as he was still an icon for her.
“Uunfortunately, he [Musharraf] is surrounded by selfish people.”
When the former APML spokesperson was asked about the potential inclusion of Musharraf in the PSP, she could not hold back a smile as she replied, "Let’s see."
However, Tahir Hussain of the APML denied any possibility of Musharraf ever joining the PSP.
“We are waiting for our chief to come back soon and we are hopeful he will after completing his medical treatment.”
The 17 other members, who have joined the PSP from across the country, are Lala Qayyum, central senior vice preisdent and coordinator secretary general, Farrukh Cheema, chief of Punjab, Naila Inam, ex-member provincial assembly who was earlier in the Pakistan Muslim League Q and later the president of the APML women wing, Imtiaz
Tanoli, president Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Shabbir Shah Bukhari, president Lahore, Salim Achakzai, senior vice president of the Balochistan youth wing, Captain Kashifa Bukhari, president of the human right wing Punjab, Brigadier Habib Khan, president Mansehra, Muzamil Malik, incharge of the social media cell Karachi, Mohammed Asim, vice president Sindh and others.
Kama, while welcoming the leaders into his party fold, said Karachi was once a literate city, but now its educational standard had dropped immensely.
“People now have stood up for their rights and want improvement in the education system.”
He also requested the intelligentsia of the city to raise their voice for their rights and to strive for once again making Karachi the city of lights.
