Suspect arrested for raping girl during dacoity

LAHORE:The SSOIU Model Town arrested a robber who sexually assaulted a girl while committing a dacoity within the jurisdiction of the Ichhra police station. The arrested robber, identified as Hamza Mushtaq, has a criminal record and is involved in 62 cases registered at various police stations across the City.

Man arrested for rape attempt on minor

Harbanspura police arrested a man for attempting to rape a seven-year-old girl. The accused was identified as Hafeez. The girl was playing outside in the street when the accused took her to his house and attempted to rape her. A case was registered against the accused on the complaint of the girl's father Shakeel.

Abduction case registered

Two persons were kidnapped by four unidentified persons in the limits of Baghbanpura police on Wednesday. The victims were identified as Irfan Ashraf and his close relative Majid Liaqat. A case was registered against the unidentified accused on the complaint of the victim's father Muhammad Ashraf.

Six die in road accidents

The Emergency Services Department (ESD) responded to 1,154 road accidents in all districts of Punjab during the last 24 hours. In these accidents, six people died, whereas 1,248 were injured. Out of these, 525 people with serious injuries were shifted to different hospitals, while 723 victims with minor injuries were treated at the incident site by Rescue medical teams.

Woman hit to death

A 50-year-old woman was killed by a speeding van on Zafar Ali Road on Wednesday. The victim was identified as Samina, wife of Javed. The victim was on her way on a bike when a rashly-driven van hit the vehicle on Zafar Ali Road, resulting in her instant death. The bike driver also sustained injuries in the accident. Body was handed over to the police.
