Pakistan committed to protecting
Harmain Sharifain, Saudi Arabia: Mamnoon

ISLAMABAD: President Mamnoon Hussain on Monday said Pakistan was committed to protecting the sanctity of Harmain Sharifain and the territorial integrity of Saudi Arabia.
Talking to Imam-e-Ka’aba Al-Sheikh Dr. Khalid al-Ghamdi, who called on him at the Aiwan-e-Sadr, the president said the people and the Government of Pakistan had the greatest regard for Saudi Arabia. He said the Pakistani diaspora in Saudi Arabia was playing the role of a bridge between the two countries.
The Imam-e-Ka’aba said deep-rooted relations between the two brotherly countries were based on strong foundations. He said the Pakistani people had great love for Harmain Sharifain and the Saudi government. He said nothing could change the cordial relations between the two countries.
Dr. Ghamdi said the objectives of both countries were the same. He also said all the sections of Pakistani society were determined to protect Harmain Sharifain. He expressed the confidence that Pakistan will always stand by Saudi Arabia. Dr. Ghamdi also expressed grief over the loss of lives and properties in Khyber Pakhtunkhawa due to a mini cyclone and torrential rains.
After the meeting, the Imam-e-Ka’aba led the Zohr prayers at the Aiwan-e-Sadr. Officers and staff of the President’s Secretariat offered the prayers. The Imam offered special prayers for the progress, prosperity and development of Pakistan and also for the sovereignty and stability of Saudi Arabia.
