Islamabad:As government schools and colleges in Islamabad have reopened after the summer vacation, students face unsafe and disruptive conditions due to incomplete repairs that were supposed to be completed in June.
The start of the new academic term has been troubled by cluttered environments, unfinished repairs, and significant safety hazards. At several schools and colleges, students encountered campuses in disarray. Classrooms and corridors were filled with paint cans, debris, gravel, cement bags, and exposed wiring. The chaos has obstructed daily operations and raised serious safety concerns for students and staff.
The educational institutions most impacted include Islamabad Model Postgraduate College H-8, Islamabad Model College for Girls (IMCG) F-10/3, IMCG I-14/3, IMCG F-7/4, IMCG G-11, IMCG G-10/4, Islamabad Model College for Boys (IMCB) G-10/4, IMCB H-9, IMCG F-10/2, and Islamabad Model School for Boys Chatha Bakhtawar. They're grappling with hazardous conditions such as incomplete repairs and overgrown grounds, which also heighten the risk of insect bites. “The repair work that was expected to be completed by June is still under way, creating significant safety hazards and disruptions in our educational environment,” observed an employee of IMCG F-7/4. The situation is compounded by many restrooms being under repair, causing considerable inconvenience for students and staff members alike.
