Judge hearing £190m case changed
Imran’s lawyers raised objections to appointment of Judge Muhammad Ali Waraich
ISLAMABAD. The Accountability Court judge hearing the £190-million reference against Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan and his wife Bushra Bibi has been changed once again.
Previously, Judge Muhammad Ali Waraich of Accountability Court No.1 was hearing the reference in Adiala Jail. However, now District and Sessions Judge Nasir Javed Rana has been appointed as the judge of Accountability Court No.1. Judge Abida Sajjad of Grade 20 has been appointed as Judge of Accountability Court No.3.
The Chief Justice of the Islamabad High Court (IHC) had recommended the appointment of several judges. The Ministry of Law issued a formal notification of the appointment of new judges on Friday.
During the hearings in June, Imran’s lawyers raised objections to the appointment of Judge Muhammad Ali Waraich.
