KP Police’s Martyrs Day on August 4
PESHAWAR: The main function of Martyrs Day to pay tributes to the fallen heroes of police will be held in Peshawar on August 4, officials said on Friday.
Senior Superintendent of Police-Operations Kashif Zulfiqar and Director for KP Police Public Relations Shahzada Kokab Farooq told a press conference on Friday that all the arrangements have been finalised for Martyrs Day.
The official said salutes at the graves of martyrs would be presented while Quran Khwani and blood donation camps would be held.The two officers said the KP Police has sacrificed the most as hundreds of policemen up to the rank of additional IGP were martyred during the last two decades.
The officers have already started visiting the families of the martyrs to pay tributes to their heroes.The Martyrs’ Day is observed every year to pay tribute to hundreds of fallen heroes of KP police. A number of functions were already held in Peshawar and other cities in this connection.
The inspector general of police Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has constituted different committees for Yaum-e-Shuhada Police. The day has been observed for the last many years to pay homage to the sacrifice of large number of cops who lost lives in suicide attacks, bomb blasts, targeted assaults and other incidents while on duty.
