NOWSHERA: A man lost his life after being hit by a freight train traveling from Peshawar to Kundian here on Saturday.
The victim stumbled and fell onto the railway track in Khattak Killay area, where he was struck by the train. The Azakhel Police Station registered a report and initiated an investigation.
Muhammad Salman reported to the police that his father Muhammad Yasin left home at 2pm and headed towards the railway track. Due to the extreme heat and humidity, he lost his balance and fell in the middle of the track. At that moment, a freight train from Peshawar to Kundian arrived and fatally hit him on the spot.
The report said that Muhammad Yasin also had a history of substance abuse and was overwhelmed by the intense heat. His body was shifted to the District Headquarter Hospital, where it was handed over to the family after a post-mortem examination.
