CDA notice to PTI for flouting by-laws at its secretariat
Party has obtained stay order from Islamabad High Court to avoid any action by CDA
ISLAMABAD: Building Control Section of CDA has issued show-cause notice to Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf over violation of the building by-laws.
The notice has been issued over alleged violations of the building control regulations by the PTI at its Islamabad Secretariat. However, the party has obtained a stay order from the Islamabad High Court to avoid any action by the CDA.
The office is located on Plot No. 01A Class-3 Shopping Centre, Sector G-8/4-2 Islamabad. The show-cause notice also referred to a notice, issued earlier on June 28. It has been stated in the notice that the second and third floors of the building were built without approval.
The second objection is that encroachments had been made on the CDA land. The third objection is that the plot is not being used for the purpose for which it had been allotted. The fourth objection is that the veranda has been closed which is violation of the law.
The allottee has been directed to remove the violations within 15 days. The CDA Building Control Section issued the show-cause notice on July 18 over PTI’s non-removal of the violation of the Building by-laws.
Meanwhile, PTI leader Sardar Latif Khosa Advocate approached the Islamabad High Court (IHC) against the notice, issued by the CDA. The stated in his petition that the CDA notice had been issued for political reasons. IHC Judge Suman Rifat Imtiaz awarded stay and sought response from the CDA.
The Building Control Section of the CDA said the court order had been received, but an opinion would be sought from the legal wing.
